The Region of Lazio participates in the Island of Sustainability with GPPBest

The 2017 edition of the Island of Sustainability took place in Rome, at the Faculty of Architecture of the Università degli Studi Roma Tre, an annual event in which Institutions, Research Bodies and Companies meet to educate and inform the new generations on the themes of sustainable development. Aimed at students, families and sector technicians, the Island of Sustainability focused on 4 of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to be reached by 2030, including responsible consumption and production (Goal 12). A perfect setting, therefore, to illustrate to visitors the contents of the GPPbest project – Exchange of best practices and strategic tools for GPP, funded by the European LIFE program which aims to promote new models of sustainable consumption. The Region of Lazio presented the project, among its initiatives, at its booth present on all three days of the event (30 November, and December 1-2). Youth and very young visitors, accompanied by their teachers, were able to get to know the actions of the Region in order to reduce consumption and impacts on the environment, exhibited directly and understandably by the stand operators. The gadgets, pens and pencils with the logo of the project that were distributed to the students present at the Island of Sustainability were very successful.
