Fondazione Ecosistemi specializes in the definition of strategies, plans and actions for sustainability, and is a leader in Italy in green public procurement and in green supply chains, accompanies public and private administrations in the adoption of sustainability intervention tools. Since 2008 it promotes and organizes the CompraVerde-BuyGreen Forum, the most important event dedicated to policies, projects and actions of Green Procurement, both public (GPP) and private. The event, which, in 2016, reached its tenth edition (October 13 and 14, 2016 at the Salone delle Fontane, Rome), facilitates the meeting between the main actors involved in the dissemination and implementation of the procurement of sustainable goods and services and is the first Italian event certified ISO20121 as a “sustainable event”. The experience in the green public procurement sector has matured both as a partner and as a creator in numerous European projects, and through the awarding of technical assistance services for the implementation of GPP. Since 2006 it has been the technical secretariat of the GPPnet Network established within the working groups of the Italian Local Agenda 21 Coordination Committee. Ecosistemi participates in the drafting of the Minimum Environmental Criteria to identify environmental and social requirements to be introduced in procurement procedures for the categories of goods, services and works covered by the action plan for environmental sustainability of public administration consumption called the National Action Plan for GPP (PAN GPP) updated by Ministerial Decree of April 10, 2013 published in Official Gazette No. 102 of May 3, 2013. It is one of the strategic partners of the European Procura+ sustainable procurement network, coordinated by ICLEI. Ecosistemi provides the GPPbest partnership with its expertise and experience in the field of training and implementation of green public procurement and coordinates networking activities with other projects and initiatives at the community and national levels.
